Description

Corbis 2.5mg is the brand name of a beta blocker medicine prescribed for the treatment of cardio-vascular diseases such as high blood pressure (hypertension). It contains the active ingredient Bisoprolol Fumarate. It can also be administered to treat angina (severe chest pain) and congestive heart failure.

Bisoprolol 2.5mg- Working Mechanism
This Beta-blocker (Bisoprolol Fumarate) assists in the flow of blood through the veins and arteries with less resistance by widening the blood vessels. It thus reduces the strain (or workload) on the heart, brings down the heart rate, eventually preventing any chance of a heart-attack.

Bisoprololis available in the form of tablets for oral administration. It should not be taken in smaller or larger quantities than recommended.
Bisoprolol can be taken with or without food, at the same time each day. The period of treatment ranges from one week to two weeks, according to the patients needs. It may take more than a week or two to get the full effect of this medication. Even during the period of treatment, the patients blood pressure should be closely monitored.
Alcohol, apple juice, orange juice is found to have reduced the effectiveness of this medication; hence they should be avoided during the period of treatment.

Bisoprolol 2.5mg- Side Effects
While the body accepts and alters itself to the medication; dizziness, drowsiness, light-headedness or headaches may occur. Dry cough may also be one of the usual side effects; if it is persistent it has to be treated right away. Difficulty in urination, skin reactions like rashes, itching, reddening should be reported to the doctor and get the dosage changed accordingly.
Mood swings, difficulty in paying attention, irritability, anxiety, nervousness and depression are part of the side effects.
The following serious side effects need to be tented to immediately:
Irregular/unusual heartbeats, sleeplessness,
Impotence, decreased sex drive
Joint inflammation
